Heavy Rain

Heavy Rain is an interactive drama psychological thriller video game created by Quantic Dream exclusively for the PlayStation 3. The game is written and directed by Quantic Dream's founder and CEO David Cage. Heavy Rain's story is a dramatic thriller modeled after film noir, featuring four protagonists involved with the mystery of the Origami Killer, a serial killer who uses extended periods of rainfall to drown his victims.
Ethan Mars is a father who is trying to save his son from being the next victim, while investigative journalist Madison Paige, FBI profiler Norman Jayden, and private detective Scott Shelby are each trying to track down clues to the Origami Killer's identity. The player interacts with the game by performing actions highlighted on screen related to motions on the controller, and in some cases, performing a series of quick time events during fast-paced action sequences. The player's decisions and actions during the game will affect the narrative; the main characters can be killed, and certain actions may lead to different scenes and endings.
A playable demo was released on 11 February 2010. The demo was released prior to this date for people who took part in a Four Day Challenge on 5 February 2010. A patch to allow use of the PlayStation Move controller to play the game was released in September 2010. It won 2010's Game of the Year from CNN and Gaming Union. Heavy Rain also won GameSpy and IGN's 'Best PS3 Game of 2010'. A modified version of the game will be released titled Heavy Rain Edition Modifiée exclusively in France. This version will be aimed towards a younger audience. In 2010, the game was included as one of the titles in the book 1001 Video Games You Must Play Before You Die.

Heavy Rain is an adventure game, requiring the player to move the character and have him or her interact with the objects or other non-player characters on the scene to progress the story. The game is divided into several scenes, each centering on one of four playable characters. The choices the player makes or the actions performed or not performed will affect later scenes in the game. For example, it is possible that a character dies or becomes detained, and will not be present in a later scene. There is no immediate "game over" in Heavy Rain; the game will progress to a number of different endings depending on the sum of the player's performance even if all the characters become incapacitated in some manner. However, once the game is complete, the player can return to earlier scenes and replay them, possibly altering the events as they play through other chapters.

Within most scenes, the player can control the main character by moving them around the environment; they can also hold down a button to see what thoughts are going through the character's mind, and trigger them to hear an internal monologue on that thought. When the player is near an object or another character they can interact with, they will be presented with a context sensitive icon that represents what control they need to do. These controls include pressing a button on the Dualshock controller, moving the analog sticks in a specific manner, or rotating the motion-sensitive controller in a specific way; in the version with PlayStation Move support, further actions based on the Move controllers are also present. These actions may lead to additional actions to fully complete the interaction. Some scenes impose a timer on the player, requiring them to complete the necessary actions in time to avoid the death or incapacity of that character. In other scenes, the player does not have full control of the char
acter but must instead be prepared to respond to these icons in the manner of quick time events, such as during a hand-to-hand fight or while driving frantically on the wrong side of the road; the player does not receive a game over if these events are completed incorrectly, but may possibly alter how future scenes play out.
Additionally, the game includes a difficulty level functionality that the user can change through the menu at any point during the game. While adjusting the level will not alter the storyline of the game directly, a higher difficulty will influence the prompts, for example, requiring more inputs during sequences in order to avoid a failed action.

Characters
There are four main playable characters. The player controls one character at a time, generally playing different characters in each chapter of the game. The characters were voiced, motion captured and modelled after several actors.
Ethan Mars: An architect with a wife and two sons. Two years prior to the main story, his elder son, Jason, dies in a car accident that leaves Ethan in a coma. Now awake, Ethan remains depressed and stricken with grief, and lives alone, estranged from his wife and distant from his other son, Shaun. Ethan soon discovers that Shaun may become the next victim of the Origami Killer, and is forced to go to extreme lengths to save him. He is voiced by and modeled after Pascal Langdale.
Scott Shelby: A retired police officer, currently working as a private investigator conducting an investigation into the Origami Killer. He is voiced by and modelled after Sam Douglas.
Norman Jayden: An FBI profiler sent to support the police force with their investigation into the Origami Killer. Jayden possesses a set of experimental augmented reality glasses called an "Added Reality Interface", or ARI. It allows him to rapidly investigate crime scenes and analyze evidence. He is also struggling with an addiction to the drug triptocaine. He is voiced by and modelled after Leon Ockenden.
Madison Paige: A photojournalist living alone in the city. Suffering from chronic insomnia and nightmares, she occasionally checks into motels, as they are the only place she can properly sleep. She eventually finds herself involved in the latest Origami Killer case, conducting her own investigations. Her voice and facial motion capture were done by Judi Beecher, and her likeness and body motion capture were provided by Jacqui Ainsley.

The game's prologue opens with Ethan Mars, spending his life with his family. He later loses track of one of his sons, Jason, at a busy mall. Jason is soon found, outside on the street, and Ethan jumps to try to save him from an oncoming car. Jason is killed, while Ethan is injured and falls into a coma for six months. Two years after the accident, Ethan is suffering from depression, a fear of crowds, and blackouts that last for several hours. He is estranged from his wife, and his remaining son, Shaun, is distant with him. While at a park with Shaun, Ethan has another blackout, and wakes to find Shaun missing.
Shaun's disappearance is soon tied to the serial murders of the Origami Killer. The criminal's modus operandi is to abduct a young boy during the rainy fall season, after which their bodies are found several days later in a remote location, drowning being the cause of death, along with an origami animal figure in their hands, and an orchid on their chest. FBI profiler Norman Jayden, having come to assist the police with the Origami Killer, concludes that the child is locked in a location where, after 6 inches of rainfall, their bodies will be completely submerged and die from drowning. They realize that they have less than three days to find Shaun.
Ethan retreats to a motel to avoid the media. He receives a letter that directs him to a locker, and finds a shoebox containing a mobile phone, a handgun, and five origami figures. The phone instructs him to complete a set of trials written on each origami figure to display the lengths he is prepared to go to in order to save Shaun, after which he will receive pieces of a street address. The trials present increasing risk as they proceed, from subjecting himself to physical pain and electrocution, cutting off part of his finger, killing a man, and drinking poison. As he attempts these trials, he meets Madison Paige, who helps him to recover physically and emotionally from the trials. Madison begins her own investigation into who may have arranged the trials.
Jayden, working with Lieutenant Carter Blake, investigate two suspects, but come up empty-handed. Ethan's ex-wife visits the police and informs them of Ethan's blackouts, which lead them to Ethan's psychiatrist. Blake is sure that Ethan is the Origami Killer, while Jayden continues to follow the trail of evidence to confirm otherwise.
During these events, private investigator Scott Shelby begins visiting several of the victims' parents for information, and obtains several items that relate to the Origami Killer. One parent, Lauren Winter, insists on helping him, seeking closure on the matter. They are led astray by a wealthy playboy claiming to be the Killer, and are threatened off the case by his adversarial father.

Four player podcast is a group of people who do a podcast about video games. The podcast first came out in 2008. On their podcast they play and/or talk about video games.  I personally love their podcast because they always keep me updated on games and if I want to play a game I can go onto their site and watch them play it to see if I want to buy that particular game or not.
Four player podcast has won video game podcast of the year for three years in a row(2009-2011) and won Peoples choice in 2011 through the Podcast awards. All of which is an amazing accomplishment.
I feel that Four player podcast genuinely cares about their viewers, unlike some podcasts. Please check these guys out. They broadcast almost every night. The link is bellow.

Tomb Raider: The Angel of Darkness

This Tomb Raider game was the first Tomb Raider game to come out on the Playstation 2, So the graphics are not that great, but it still is a wonderful game.
In this game Lara Croft's mentor was murdered. Lara discovers  her murdered mentor and when the police arrive on scene Lara becomes the prime suspect.
Now Lara travels the world in an attempt to clear her name and unearth the truth. This Tomb Raider game is a wonderful work of art, Even though the graphics suck compared to today's graphics  . Even so you will enjoy this game as much as I did.

Here is a music video that was made for this game. I love this song. Its so catchy lol.

Kingdom Hearts 2

Kingdom Hearts 2 starts out with a character named Roxas who lives in a world called Twilight Town. In the beginning  you play as him doing simple things until he encounters a creature called a nobody. Nobodies are created from humans who's hearts have been stolen by the heartless. Also Roxas somehow gets the keyblade. You end up inside a mansion where you learn that the world of Twilight town is just an illusion but Roxas is real. Weird huh? I'll say.
While in the mansion you meet a girl named Namine. I won't give too much detail anymore because I don't want to ruin the game for anyone. Anyways Sora(who was the hero in the first game) was put in a deep sleep during the game for the DS called Chain of memories. In the second Kingdom Hearts he gets woken up. So now you play the rest of the game as him.
Later in the game you learn your true enemies are The Organization 13 and you fight them trough-out the game. I love this game and feel as if, like the first one, there is a moral in the story. This game is beautiful and I feel that it will still be popular years from now.

Kingdom Hearts

Kingdom Hearts follows the story of three friends named Sora, Kairi, and Riku. Everything was good until the night that the Heartless(Shadow Creatures who steal the hearts of humans) came to take over their world called Destiny Islands. Sora ends up getting a mysterious weapon called The Keyblade. In the end Sora gets separated  from his friends and wakes up in another world called Traverse Town.

Through-out the game Sora ,who is the main hero, is trying to destroy the Heartless and find his lost friends.

The game was created by Tetsuya Nomura. It was developed by Square Enix and Disney Interactive Studios. This truly is a beautiful and fun game.

LA Noire

L.A. Noire is set in Los Angeles in 1947 and challenges the player, controlling a Los Angeles Police Department(LAPD) detective, to solve a range of cases across five crime desks.Players must investigate crime scenes for clues, follow up leads, and interrogate suspects, and the players' success at these activities will impact how much of the cases' stories are revealed.

As the title suggests, the game draws heavily from both plot and aesthetic elements of film noir – stylistic films from the 1940s and 1950s that shared similar visual styles and themes including crime, sex, and moral ambiguity and were often shot in black and white with harsh, low-key lighting. The game uses a distinctive colouring-style in homage to the visual style of film noir, including the option to play the game in black-and-white. The post-war setting is the backdrop for plot elements that reference the detective films of the '40s (as well as James Ellroy's novel L.A Confidential and the Curtis Hansonfilm based on it), such as corruption and drugs, with a jazz soundtrack. L.A. Noire is also notable for using Lightsprint's real-time global illunination technology, as well as Depth Analysis's newly developed technology for the film and video game industries called MotionScan, where actors are recorded by 32 surrounding cameras to capture facial expressions from every angle. The technology is central to the game's interrogation mechanic, as players must use the suspects' reactions to questioning to judge whether they are lying or not.

Devil May Cry

Devil May Cry  is a series of five hack and slash video games set in the modern day. The series was developed by Capcom and created by Hideki Kamiya. Originally intended to be a sequel in Capcom's Resident Evil series, Devil May Cry was such a radical departure from the series' style that it was developed into a new property entirely. The series centers on main character Dante's goal of avenging his mother's murder by exterminating demons. The gameplay consists of heavy combat scenes in which the player must attempt to extend long chains of attacks while avoiding damage in order to exhibit stylized combat; this element along with time and amount of items collected and used are taken under consideration when grading the player's performance.
The series has been a success with the first three games selling multiple million copies and being awarded the "Platinum Title" award by Capcom. The success of the video game series has led to the creation of comic books, novelizations, an anime series, guides, collectibles, publications, and a variety of action figures.
During the 2010 edition of the Tokyo Game Show Capcom revealed a new game named DmC Devil May Cry. The new game is developed by Ninja Theory and centers on a more juvenile version of Dante (nicknamed "Donte" by fans) who bears close resemblance to Tameem Antoniades, the chief designer of Ninja Theory and head of the DmC Devil May Cry project.

Fatal Frame Four Mask of The Lunar Eclipse

10 years ago, five girls were kidnapped by Yō Haibara, a suspected serial killer, from their rooms in a mysterious sanatorium on Rougetsu Island, located south of Honshu. They were eventually rescued by Chōshirō Kirishima, a detective pursuing the criminal. Several years after the incident, two of the girls, Marie Shinomiya and Tomoe Nanamura, died mysteriously. The three remaining girls, Ruka Minazuki, Misaki Asō and Madoka Tsukimori, all now 17 years old, return to the island to recover their lost memories and find out more about their kidnapping. Chōshirō also returns to find Ruka in her mother's request.

Following the premise of the previous installments in the franchise, the player is expected to fight off hostile spirits using the signature "weapon" of the series, the "Camera Obscura", along with a new weapon- the Spirit Flashlight, a "torch" with the power to exorcise spirits using moonlight. The player uses the Wii Remote and Nun chuck  to aim the camera and flashlight, creating a more realistic and tactile experience. Not all spirits encountered are hostile, and the player will be able to tell the difference depending on the color of the glow of the on-screen Ghost Filament. As with the previous titles in the series some photos of "seals", or "mists" on doors, may offer clues to progressing further in the level. A new filament, the Item Filament, was added, used to direct the player towards items they may pick up. The more accurate the aim/distance to the item, the brighter blue the filament will glow.
The currency for upgrading in Zero: Tsukihami no Kamen is spirit crystals - blue for the Basic Functions and red for the lenses, for both Camera and Flashlight. There is a shop at which various healing items and films can be purchased for points.
The Ghost List returns from the previous three games, as does Mission Mode, although the ghost list cannot be completed because of a bug in the game. A new addition to the series is the Doll List; there are a total of 79 Hozuki Dolls (Hōzuki Ningyō) in red kimonos scattered around the island that, when photographed, unlock costumes and lenses after clearing the game.

Fatal Frame Three The Tourmented

This game follows a freelance photographer named Rei Kurosawa. While she is one an assignment to photograph a supposedly haunted mansion an image of her dead boyfriend Yuu shows up in one of the pictures. Ever since that day Rei has a reoccurring nightmare about an old Japanese Manor know as The Manor of Sleep. Its snowing outside and she follows her dead boyfried deep into the mansion.

In this game you play as three different characters, Rei, Miku (Rei's assistant), And Kei ( a friend of Yuu's). I like this one but not as much as I like the second one. Also the artwork an animation in this series is beautiful. Even if you are not a fan of scary games you should play them to see the beautiful animation.

Fatal Frame Two Crimson Butterfly

Fatal Frame 2 follows twin sisters Mio and Mayu's experience in the lost village. In the beginning of the game Mio and Mayu vist the place the use to play in the forest where Mayu is lured to the village by a Crimson Colored Butterfly. You later learn that  a sacred ceromony was performed where one twin scarifices the other. Mayu and Mio get seperated and your whole goal is to find your sister before its too late.
This installment of the game is my favorite and I feel the scariest. In this one unlike the others you are able to roam around the village as apposed to the main mansion. I love this game and I think you all will too.

Fatal Frame One

Fatal Frame is known in Europe, Australia, and New Zealand as Project Zero and in Japan as Zero. Fatal Frame is a horror survival game. Fatal Frame consists of four games. The series is based around a mountain village in Japan that disappeared on the night of a sacred ceremony. In the first game of the series a young woman named Miku goes to the Himuro Mansion to look for her missing brother Mafuyu Hinasaki. She finds no trace of him except their mothers old camera. The Camera Obscura which becomes your weapon against the bad ghosts that you are sure to encounter.

After Miku realizes that she has become trapped by the village she desperately looks for her brother and a way out. I personally have yet to play the first game but I can tell you Fatal Frame has quickly become my favorite game series. This game is scary so I suggest that anyone with a weak heart not play this game.
